Student Journalist of the Year Award
The Foundation is proud to support Melbourne Press Club’s ‘Student Journalist of the Year Awards’. The Awards recognises and promotes excellence in Victorian student journalism. Any student studying journalism or communications at a tertiary institution in Victoria can enter their published work. An expert panel of journalists, organised by the Melbourne Press Club, assess entries, with an emphasis on originality, impact, quality and initiative. The winner is named at the Melbourne Press Club Quills awards, – the prestigious “night of nights” for journalism in Victoria – and receives numerous benefits including a cash grant, work experience at a major media outlet, and mentorship from experienced journalists.
