Stand Up and Be Funny

In 2023 The Vizard Foundation supported The University of Melbourne to plan, write and deliver a new undergraduate Breadth Course, ‘Stand Up and Be Funny’, with a focus on comedy, stand-up and sketch. The course was delivered in weekly increments over the 12-week semester. The culmination of the course to be a performance by all willing participants from the initial cohort of 33 students, at a local Melbourne comedy club. In 2024 The University of Melbourne delivered the second iteration of ‘Stand Up and Be Funny’ over both Semester 1 and Semester 2, attracting over 50 students each semester. The course is now a popular course elective at The University of Melbourne.
